It Takes a Village

to raise, educate, affirm, and inspire a child

We are a youth and family-centered organization in Tompkins
County that addresses systemic injustice through responsive anti-racist programming and services to build an equitable and inclusive community.

COVID-19 Statement

We are still able to work remotely with you to provide support for children and families, if you are unable to come to us. If you have an urgent service need or question, please contact us and someone will respond to you as soon as possible.  If you’d like to contribute to our Village at Ithaca Emergency Fund, you may do so using the button below.

Anti-Racism Statement

We acknowledge the commitment to equity that many of our region’s school districts have embraced in the recent past. In particular, we applaud the Ithaca City School District’s commitment to equity. However, we also note that all public school systems, even those engaged in equity work, are inherently racist institutions built upon a foundation of oppression and white supremacy.

Our Support Services

Academic/Tutoring Support

We provide academic, emotional, and social support in the Village room at IHS. We also offer academic support on Sunday afternoons at Circus Culture in downtown Ithaca.

Student Success Mentorship

Through one-on-one relationships, we match students with an Achievement Coach who helps students reach their potential.

Family Advocacy Program

We are here to advocate for our students and their families in our county’s education system.

Ongoing Food & Household Support

In response to Covid-19, Friendship Donation Network and our volunteers have been distributing food and household items to families.

Village Emergency Fund

In March 2020, we launched our emergency fund to offer financial assistance to address ever-changing needs amidst the pandemic.

Youth Identity Groups

We have created a space for our young men and women of color to gather and follow a self-driven agenda.
